Flux and Plug

I seriously doubt anyone has been watching this site as closely as I have. But on the off chance someone has, I may as well aknowledge the changes today has seen.

During just 16 short hours, the site has seen major changes to how the index cards are handled (refresh the page and watch 'em fly), how the text is presented (first CSS ever!), and the layout of the site.

What layout change? Well, this baby was 3-column for a while. While I really liked that, it needs a lot of work before I'd be satisfied. In the meantime, we're sticking with two column.

One thing I did not realize about MT when I first installed it was the scope of its power. For instance, you can not only create pages and customize the look of your site you can create new index pages and manage them from within MT.

Also, MT is the only system I know that allows you to manage more than one blog without having to install multiple instances of the software. On my last site, I expected to have at least three separate installations of WordPress. Those days, friends, are GONE.

Movable Type is truly amazing. It offers even beginning web-builders like myself a powerful but stable tool to create with. In conclusion: I wish I had a dollar for every word I have written in praise of Movable Type. Oh well.

Stylish!

The website now has STYLE. Quite literally, in fact. The simple process of changing the font and the font color has proven to be very educational. I've never written anything with CSS before, so this small victory means a lot to me.

I've also gotten over the fear of breaking the website. Now the experimentation can truly begin.

You See That?

You see that? That's an image! That's an actual image on the sidebar! Damn, that's amazing.

Might not seem like a lot to you, but it's a big step for me. First stop side image, next stop All Singing All Dancing Prancing Webpage.

Here we are again!

Site is in flux as I poke around Movable Type and try to beat it into submission. It's been a rough, sleepless road but I think it will all pay off in the end.

Many thanks to Cathy for listening to be complain, and nudging me onward.

UNENDING THANKS TO KRIS JACQUE, WITHOUT WHOM I WOULD BE MAKING AN ANGELFIRE WEBSITE ABOUT MY CAT (no cat exists).
